Earlier this Fall, we got our first look at a new collection from Nike with ‘Tokyo 2003’ branding, though it is currently unclear what this means. This week, the Air Force 1 Mid joined the pack, featuring purple crocodile leather overlays.
Nike has been celebrating a number of anniversaries for their classic sneakers this year, mainly focusing on the Air Max 1, Air Trainer 1, and Air Force 1, the latter of which has been a staple of the brand for forty years now. So far, two of these silhouettes have surfaced as part of an upcoming ‘Tokyo 2003’ pack, which appears to celebrate Japanese style through premium versions of the Air Trainer 1, and now, the AF1 Mid. Featuring a white leather base layer, this newly emerged Air Force adds bold purple crocodile leather overlays to its upper, as well as the signature TYO ’03 branding to the outer heels and hangtags. There has been no official word on what exactly the pack celebrates, though we are sure to find out when Nike announces its release later this season.
