Nike has seemingly turned their attention to the Air Force 1 this season, offering up an array of unique new colors for the classic sneaker. This week, we have an official look at the “Heat Map” style, coming soon.
Nike has relied on the Air Force 1 as a creative canvas for decades, using its clean, familiar silhouette to explore countless special projects and experimental color schemes. From city-themed releases and anniversary editions to artist collaborations and limited regional drops, the AF1 has carried nearly every kind of storytelling Nike can dream up. This season, we’ve been tracking several upcoming interesting colorways, like the three-piece patent leather pack and a bold green pair originally referred to as the “Graffiti” style. Now, a second style with the same color blocking as the Graffiti look has surfaced, though this pair is more akin to a heat map in it’s color choices. The bulk of the shoe is black, though gradient sections are added to the midfoot, soles, and heels that use shades of blue, yellow, and red to ‘heat up’ certain areas of the shoe. Blue tongues and laces as well as red leather edges add a bit more detail to the shoe, while star-shaped lace ornaments complete the look.
