New Balance’s famous grey color scheme they apply to most of their retro runners has always been a favorite amongst fans of the brand. However, the Boston-based brand has decided to switch it up, showing off a new 992 with the classic grey upper and a neon gradient sole.
It should be no surprise by now that New Balance has revived the beloved 992 silhouette for 2020, releasing the retro runner in a surprising number of new colorways and collaborations throughout the year already. One of these releases includes the classic grey iteration of the famous runner, commonly seen across all entries in the 99x family. This week, we have an early look at a revised version of that fan-favorite color scheme with a bright new twist. The upper on the next 992 release retains the same varying shades of grey across the upper, switching out the usual white and grey midsole with an eye-catching neon gradient. The forefoot begins in laser red before changing slightly into a more purple tone before ending in yellow at the heel, while the outsole rubber comes in teal for a bit of contrast.
