The New Balance 740 Preview Shows Eight New Colorways

New Balance has just started the revival of their 740 runner, kicking off the shoe’s return with a clean green colorway this week. Now, a range of eight different styles have surfaced, releasing over the next few months.

The New Balance 740 is finally here as of this week, with the Boston brand kicking off their retro release of the tech runner with a “Marsh Green” color scheme. The silhouette originally debuted in the early 2010s, but did not draw a lot of attention at the time, and was placed in the brand’s vault soon afterwards. Now, the model is a perfect choice to bring back out, turning it into a lifestyle model for modern trends.

In addition to the model’s launch this week and its upcoming Aminé collaboration, a range of in-line colors for the 740 have surfaced in their official images. These pairs are expected to release over the next few months, extending into early 2025 and making the model a staple of the NB lineup. Each pair features a simple mesh and synthetic overlay construction, largely sticking to New Balance’s bread & butter of neutral colors with some louder accents. There are all white and all black pairs, some that add metallic silver accents and others with neon greens and dusty blues.

The new styles of New Balance’s 740 seen here have not been added to the brand’s release calendar yet. All eight pairs are expected to roll out slowly over the next few months, finishing off sometime in early 2025. Pairs will likely roll out to global retailers within the first few releases, and be available for $110.
