The New Balance 550 basketball sneaker is slowly arriving in new colorways, and if the brand’s latest leaks are any indication, the retro model is here to stay. Today, we have an early look at a new “Shifted Sport” pack, dropping this week.
The New Balance 550 is still one of the most popular sneakers of the moment, despite making its first ever retro return well over a year ago in 2020. The silhouette’s vintage style and intended purpose of the basketball court are likely the driving influences in its popularity, as well as the incredible work by collaborators like Aimé Leon Dore in refreshing the sneaker in exciting new ways. However, our favorite colors so far have been New Balance’s subtle twists to the original, like the new “Shifted Sport” pack set to release this week. Three new colorways are included, adding subtle black panels to the original white color blocking, as well as accent colors in red, blue, and green, alluding to classic basketball shoe styles.

New Balance’s latest standard-issue colorways of the retro 550 basketball shoe have been slated to drop later this week, on September 1st, 2021. Arriving in shades of white and black with bold accents in red, blue, and green, each pair come with a price tag of $110, releasing from both New Balance and select retailers.
