New Balance’s 550 just keeps coming. With new colorways surfacing on a weekly basis, we are doing our best to curate our favorite releases. This week, it’s the upcoming ‘Marquette’ themed look, coming soon.
We’ve seen a range of new colorways for New Balance’s 550 emerge in the past week alone, and the brand does not seem to have an end in sight. Recently, we saw some colorful versions of the retro basketball shoe in ‘Nightwatch Green’ and ‘Natural Indigo‘, now, the Boston brand is turning to collegiate sources for new color inspiration. Seen here in a ‘Marquette’-themed look, this pair begins with a crisp white leather base for most of the shoe’s upper. The mesh wrapping around the heels comes in a pale gold tone, with yellow mid layers on top, while the heel counter mixes deep navy blue suede with a maroon plastic clip. Navy blue piping extends down the sides of either shoe, while light blue New Balance ‘N’ logos dress the midfoot. The tongues’ lining comes in a dark maroon shade, with yellow accents for the branding. The 550 mark on the toe matches the colors, while a mixed grey and blue outsole completes the ‘Marquette’ look.

New Balance’s latest color scheme for the fan-favorite 550 has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to launch sometime in Fall 2022. Featuring Marquette University’s color palette, pairs will be available via the brand’s website and select retailers for $110.
