After announcing a new multi-year partnership last Summer, Lego and Nike are finally releasing their first wave of products. Today, the Lego Group opened up pre-orders for the Nike Dunk High playset, shipping in July.
Lego’s first foray into footwear came in 2020, when the Danish toy brand teamed up with adidas to create buildable models of their iconic sneakers, as well as turning those same shoes into wearable, buildable models. After a few releases highlighting the ZX 8000 and UltraBoost, the partnership came to an end, and Lego took a break from sneakers for a few years. Then, in August 2024, they announced a new multi-year partnership with Nike, around the time the two collided in the metaverse of Fortnite.
Nearly a year after their initial announcement of both toy and sneaker releases, the first Lego x Nike products are here. This week brought us the reveal of the Lego Air Max Dn, and now, the first playset, featuring the “Kentucky” Dunk High. The set features a buildable version of the iconic shoe, along with a display stand of Dunk branding. The shoe comes apart in three pieces to store extra laces and other small parts, and comes with a basketball-headed minifigure, also wearing the blue Dunk model.
