Asics’ lineup of unique running shoes has been host to some exciting collaborations recently, namely the GEL-Venture 6. Earlier this week, the silhouette was teased in an eye-catching colorway from Korea’s IAB-Studio, signaling a release coming soon.
The Asics GEL-Venture 6 is poised for a big year in 2020. Coming fresh off a Gore-Tex-laden collaboration with atmos last month, last year’s model from the Asics trail running franchise is back once more for another exciting project, this time jumping over from Japan to Korea to team up with IAB-Studio. Founded by Korean rapper Beenzino, IAB-Studio has grown to become one of the country’s premier streetwear brands, delivering a wide range of basics and exciting apparel pieces through their many collections. Now, the IAB team is taking their colorful design language, and applying it to the Asics GEL-Venture 6. Beginning with a silver mesh upper, the GEL-Venture is reinforced by silver metallic overlays as well as a dual-color red & blue Asics logo on either side. Flashes of yellow nylon webbing can be spotted in seemingly random places, while more spots of royal blue along the lateral heels and inner lining add more color. The toebox features an oversized Asics ‘a’ in 3M, matching the shoe’s two-toned rope laces.
IAB-STUDIO X ASICS GEL-VENTURE 6 RELEASE INFORMATION
The upcoming Asics GEL-Venture 6 from Korea’s IAB Studio has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to launch sometime in the coming weeks. The colorful take on the rugged trail runner will be available from both partners as well as select retailers, likely with a retail price in the $100+ range. UPDATE (June 8th, 2020): Korean design label IAB Studio has finally announced the release of their upcoming Asics Gel-Venture 6, which is slated to drop later this week, on June 11th, 2020. The special-edition runner will be available via raffle from Asics Korea.
UPDATE (July 7th, 2020): Asics has announced that their collaborative GEL-Venture 6 with South Korea’s IAB studio will release again. While no specific date has been given as of yet, we anticipate this release to arrive sometime this month. Stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for further updates.
