Fragment Design and Nike are back in peak performance mode this year, with a slate of projects lined up throughout 2026. Today, we have an official look at the FRGMNT edition of the Swoosh’s new Air Liquid Max sneaker, coming this Spring.
The first formal collaboration between Fragment Design and Nike arrived in 2010, though the label’s founder, Hiroshi Fujiwara, had already been working with Nike for years at that point. From 2010 on, Fragment & Nike have stuck together through a huge range of special projects, highlighted of course by their iconic Air Jordan 1 style, along with Dunks, Air Forces, Spiridons, and plenty more. In 2026, FRGMNT and Nike appear to be revving their engines a bit, flexing some exciting releases for the year ahead. Their AJ1 team-up with Union is already out, and the Book 2 is set for its public release this month. Now, we have official Swoosh imagery of two more styles Hiroshi previously teased earlier this year.
Fragment’s next two Nike releases are leaning on some brand new styles from the Swoosh, one of which hasn’t even released yet. The FRGMNT edition of the Mind 002 recovery shoe completely reworks the model’s design, and now, we have an early look at their Air Liquid Max, a brand new model just unveiled this morning and launching for Air Max Day 2026. The bulbous new sole unit is somewhat of an extension on Vapormax soles, using small Air pods places strategically to deliver maximum comfort and fluid motion. Fragment’s take on the model comes in a triple black palette, using the upper’s new three-layer print design to achieve a glossy effect across the shoe. Their signature text appears on the lateral heels and the midsoles, with just a hint of their royal blue shade hidden inside.
