FInesse Makes Their Asics Collab Debut With the “Desert Rose” GEL-Cumulus 16

Asics has built up quite a stable of collaborators from Australia over the last few years. This season, they’re adding women’s sneaker boutique Finesse to the roster, dropping the debut “Desert Rose’ GEL-Cumulus 16 in the coming weeks.

ASICS has built a strong reputation for teaming up with collaborators who bring something fresh and unexpected to the table. They’ve worked with fashion labels like A.P.C. to reinterpret tennis-gear and the Gel-Kayano; niche creatives like JJJJound for minimalist takes; and designers like Kiko Kostadinov who push experimental design. They also partner with smaller brands and artists, such as Brighton’s Story mfg., 18 East, and more that focus on sustainability or artful expression. Each project keeps the core ASICS tech intact, but adds personality, new materials, and style angles that appeal beyond just performance.

This week, another label from Down Under has thrown their hat into the Asics ring, making their collaborative debut in November. Finesse is the self-labeled premier women’s sneaker retailer in Australia, and they back it up with an excellent range of styles and brands. Their debut project with Asics captures the beauty of a barren desert, using the GEL-Cumulus 16 as a “Desert Rose”. The shoe gets a sand colored lacy mesh base layer, paired with black overlays and small hints of metallic silver and pale pink to complete the look.

The debut collaborative release from Australian retailer Finesse and Asics is scheduled to release next month, on November 5th, 2025. The GEL-Cumulus 16 is the canvas for this project, case in a sand & black “Desert Rose” color scheme. Raffle sign ups are now open directly from Finesse, though a wider release is expected in mid-November. Pairs will cost approximately $170.
