Asics’ large stable of collaborators has another new sneaker release this week. The new drop comes from Japanese womensweat & yoga brand emmi, who have colored the GEL-Cumulus 16 in a neutral palette with their signature lime green accent.
Emmi has built a distinct presence in the sneaker world through refined, minimalist collaborations that align with its “clear-mode” aesthetic. The brand’s biggest partnership is with New Balance, including the long-running “New Balance for emmi” series and a past triple-collab on the 327 with to/one. Emmi has also worked frequently with ASICS on models like the GEL-Lyte III, GEL-Kinetic Fluent, and GEL-NYC, blending technical running design with soft, elegant tones.
This week, the Japanese womenswear & yoga brand has introduced their latest offering from Asics. The new project brings the GEL-Cumulus 16 into their range of sneaker collaborations, dressed in a neutral palette with some small hints of color. The pair features a wide gauge performance mesh base layer, which comes in a cream white shade. The Cumulus’ taped mid layers are added in a rich chocolate brown shade, while the synthetic panelling comes in a medium grey tone. Eyestays are added in a metallic silver finish, while branding and cushioning gets the lime green tone from their previous Asics projects.

The GEL-Cumulus 16 is the canvas for this project, and brings a palette of neutral tones with small hits of lime green throughout. Pairs are currently available via retailers like Sneaker Politics, for $150 a pair.
