Montreal skate brand Dime has built a strong relationship with adidas over the last few years, releasing regular projects with the Three Stripes and some of their iconic sneakers. This week, the two revealed their latest project for Summer 2024, giving the Stan Smith a new look with a wavy grid pattern.
The Dime brand has grown dramatically in recent years, as the Montreal skate label has expanded their footwear offerings with a number of collaborations since 2020. They’ve released sneakers with New Balance, Asics, Reebok, Vans, and adidas in the last four years, and continue to have some of the best simple styles around. This week, they’ve unveiled their latest collaboration with adidas, teaming up to create a special-edition pair of the Stan Smith, a shoe built for tennis but beloved by skaters.
Dime’s take on the iconic Stan Smith makes some interesting changes to the classic silhouette. The main panels of the upper have been given a wavy grid pattern across the lateral and medial sides of the shoe, with a binding piece at the heels that echoes the curvy look. The heel counters come in a patent leather with gold Dime and Trefoil branding, while the Stan tongue badge has been replaced by Dime’s own signature face logo. Seen here in white with dark green, the store also showed off a black pair, though no images of that look have surfaced yet.
DIME X ADIDAS STAN SMITH RELEASE INFORMATION
The latest project from Montreal’s Dime and adidas has not been officially announced for release, but is listed as a July 1st drop from select retailers like BSTN. This wavy edition of the Stan Smith in the classic white and green will be available from both partners as well as third parties for a cool $120.
