atmos is one of Japan’s oldest sneaker-focused retailers, dominating sneaker culture in the country for nearly three decades. This week, the store has teased an upcoming release with New Balance, a “Wasabi” edition of the 2010 runner.
New Balance debuted a brand new silhouette last year with the 2010, a retro-inspired runner meant for everyday wear. The new model kicked off with a bang thanks to a Kith collaboration as its very first release, quickly following up with some excellent in-line colors. The rest of 2025 brought plenty of New Balance’s biggest partners in to issue their take on the 2010, including WTAPS, Joe FreshGoods, and Rich Paul. CdG Homme also teased their version during a Summer event, which is slated to arrive sometime in Spring 2026. Now, Japanese retailer atmos is teasing their take on the chunky sneaker, a special “Wasabi” edition. The teaser image is a close-up, hiding most of the pair’s details, but we can see a mix of grey mesh and olive green suede for the upper, while the right footbed features the Kanji characters for wasabi.
ATMOS X NEW BALANCE 2010 “WASABI” RELEASE INFORMATION
atmos has not yet officially announced their next release with New Balance, but the recent teaser points to a release during Spring or Summer 2026. This will be the Japanese retailer’s first take on the 2010 model, introduced last year. Their version comes in a “Wasabi” theme, and will likely be available exclusively through atmos stores and online channels in Japan.
