Bulgarian designer Kiko Kostainov’s stint as the creative director for Asics’ SportStyle line continues this season. His turn at the helm has breathed new life into the Japanese brand’s lifestyle offerings, ushering in new takes on their most popular silhouettes and dousing them in exuberant color palettes. This season, the UB9-S edition of the GEL-Kayano 20 returns with new colors, coming soon.
The Kostadinov-ified version of Asics’ GEL-Kayano 20 first appeared on our radars last Fall when the designer teased some upcoming work for 2024. The model made its debut in Spring, featuring the signature tongue pull tabs and colorful new styles. Now, the UB9-S returns for this season, with a wild “Dark Grape” look leading the way. This pair is covered almost entirely from toe to heel in a lush purple shade, but still manages to find room for accent colors in green, orange, blue, and yellow.
