Michael Jordan’s signature line of sneakers turns forty years old in 2025. The recent models are still used as performance shoes, and this week we finally got our first look at the Air Jordan 40, releasing this Fall.
2025 is a monumental year for Jordan Brand and Nike. In 1985, the Swoosh released the first signature sneaker for Michael Jordan, the Air Jordan 1, which has gone on to spawn its own brand and one of the biggest names in performance footwear. Jordan Brand now outfits athletes for a number of sports including baseball, golf, BMX riders, and more. While the early numbered pairs have become some of the most sought-after sneakers in the world, JB is still creating new shoes for the basketball court, and this week, we finally have our first look at the next generation of Air Jordan; the 40.
Speculation about the Air Jordan 40 has been starting to bubble in recent months, as typically the brand unveils their new model early in the year. The All-Star Weekend passed and the NBA Finals wrap up tomorrow, and still we have no official word on the AJ40. Luckily, sneaker leakers have already got their hands on a pair, giving us a first look at the new shoe. After Trae Young was seen in a series of photos practicing with his shoes blurred out, we began to suspect the 40 was on the way soon. The model features a crisp, minimal upper with a mix of taped and sewn seams, mounted on top of a brand new sole tooling that houses ZoomX cushioning foam. The colorway seen here mixes shades of white and black with a subtle Vast Grey accent.

The latest numbered model in the Jordan Brand family has not been announced for release yet, but is expected to debut sometime in Fall 2025. Seen here in a clean white, black, & Vast Grey palette, pairs will be available through both Nike channels as well as select retailers, with an expected price tag of $205.
