UPDATE 2/10/26: After the latest restock in January, the Air Jordan 11 “Gamma Blue” is getting another shot for fans this All-Star Weekend. Foot Locker is running its All-Star Takeover in L.A and the Gamma 11 is expected to be part of the event’s lineup on February 12th, alongside other classics like the Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat.” Stay tuned for more details.
The “Gamma Blue” 11s hold a special place in sneaker history. They were one of the first non-OG colorways to generate “camp-out” levels of hype purely on the strength of the design. Bringing them back with the OG-style high-cut patent leather was the right move by Jordan Brand. It elevates the shoe from a simple re-release to a premium upgrade.
Originally debuting in 2013, the Air Jordan 11 “Gamma Blue” quickly reached cult status for its stealthy, non-traditional take on the AJ11 silhouette. Unlike the Concords or Breds, the Gamma Blues offered a modern “blackout” aesthetic that resonated with a new generation of sneakerheads.
While the 2013 release was an instant classic, the 2025 iteration brings the silhouette closer to Tinker Hatfield’s original 1995 specifications. The most notable update is the higher-cut patent leather mudguard. This thicker, more substantial cut gives the shoe a bolder stance and aligns it with recent “Remastered” holiday 11s like the Gratitude and Cherry releases.
The rest of the design stays true to what made the colorway famous. The upper features a jet-black ballistic mesh paired with a premium black leather heel overlay. The stealthy look is broken up by the titular Gamma Blue Jumpman embroidered on the collar and a striking Varsity Maize “23” on the heel tab. Rounding out the design is a black midsole packed with a full-length Air unit and a carbon fiber spring plate for that signature snap. Underfoot, the outsole utilizes a translucent blue tint that matches the branding, ensuring the “Gamma” vibes hit from every angle.
