The Nike Air Force 1 is popping up in all kinds of new styles this year, from React-filled midsoles to this updated AF1 Ultra, seen here constructed from recycled parts for the ‘Next Nature’ collection.
The Nike Move to Zero campaign has slowly infiltrated nearly every aspect of the brand. The initiative began pushing the Swoosh closer to a net zero carbon footprint through the use of recycled textiles and reusing leftover parts. In the past two years, the program has touched every product line, injecting recycled textiles into the uppers of shoe as well as grinding down old soles to create the new Crater Foam cushioning. Among these products, the ‘Next Nature’ line has emerged, aiming to produce sneakers with a higher percentage of recycled content by weight. This week, the Air Force 1 has joined the Next Nature program, taking on the signature redwood tree logo on an otherwise unassuming colorway. Dressed in white and grey, this pair adds blue suede Swooshes and an off-white heel counter to complete the look.
