The adidas Yeezy 500 finally available. After the launch of the initial “Blush” colorway earlier this month, we now have a release date for the much-anticipated “Utility Black” pair. Expect them in stores this July.
The adidas Yeezy 500 in “Utility Black” first leaked months ago, thanks to the recently-reactivated YeezyMafia account. Since then, new samples and fake pairs have been appearing almost weekly. While the original Blush and Yellow pairs drew both praise and criticism from Yeezy fans, the new all-black look seems to be taking a step in the right direction.
The “Utility Black” colorway of the Yeezy 500 is a departure from former triple-black shoes from Kanye and adidas. Previously, ‘Ye opted for the “Pirate Black” or “Core Black” colors, which translated to a very dark silhouette. However, the new Utility variation appears to be slightly lighter than previous ones, which translates to a better looking upper. Because of this lighter tone, the dye settles differently on the different materials used throughout the shoe. This means that the suede, leather, and mesh will all appear slightly lighter or darker in comparison to each other due to their textures and how well they take to the dye. This is actually a great look because it gives the “Utility Black” adidas Yeezy 500 more visual texture.
