The new year is days away and we have been seeing multiple shoes take on different Chinese New Year designs but this edition of the adidas Superstar comes with a special design dedicated to the “Year of the Rat”.
The Year of the Rat officially begins January 25th, 2020 and is the first of all zodiac animals in which it will start the new decade. adidas has recognized this and has dedicated their iconic Superstar silhouette for the occasion. It arrives with the usual white leather upper and toe cap like always but multiple alterations have been made for the special edition. The Three Stripes branding on the midfoot has been replaced with painting graphics of koi, a crane and also a tiger. To solidify the Lunar Year, a gold rat graphic is placed perfectly on the tongue. A white midsole and outsole complete the design while the pair comes equipped with three different sets of laces.
