adidas Adds New Layers and Features to the Superstar for a Fresh “Workshop” Take

The adidas Superstar has been the canvas for hundreds of the Three Stripes exciting ideas, taking on new technologies and styles with each passing year. This week, we have an early look at a new reconstructed version, titled the Workshop 1, and coming this year.

adidas Originals’ classic Superstar sneaker is still coming hot off of its 50-year-anniversary last year, filled with special collaborations and new releases. While the celebration may be behind us, adidas still has some new Superstars to show off this year, like the new “Workshop” variation that surfaced online earlier this week, deconstructing the classic silhouette for an interesting new dissected take. Subtitled the Workshop 1, this iteration rebuilds the Superstar’s simple upper with dark navy denim and leather, while a second, jagged scrap of washed denim is overlaid on the quarter panels, stitched with a few well-placed accordion stitches. The heel counter, made from leather, receives the same treatment, as well as the addition of an adidas-branded keychain sticking out from underneath it.
