adidas has cooked up a fresh batch of Taiwanese Fried Chicken for a special new release this season. Dropping as a regional exclusive, the Samba gets a new color scheme inspired by the beloved street food.
Street food is an essential part of any nation or culture. Through traveling the world, you’ll find interesting and unique delicacies on many street corners. Hot dogs are fairly common here in the United States, as are halal carts. In Taiwan, one of their local favorites is fried chicken, which has become known here as popcorn chicken, due to its bite sized crunch. The delicious snack is now the basis for a new release from adidas, which is believed to be a region exclusive release for Taiwan and the larger Asian market. The Samba serves as the canvas for this release, sporting an “Oat” white suede base, adding brown tones for the heels, linings, and Three Stripes to mimic the color of crispy batter. Olive green laces represent the herbs served with the dish, while tiny hints of red appear like the chili powder seasoning on top.

adidas’ new food-inspired pair of the Samba has not been announced for release yet, but is likely coming sometime soon in late 2025. Inspired by an essential Taiwanese street food dish, fried chicken, this pair is expected to be a regional-exclusive release to the country, with pairs available only in Asian markets.
