adidas’ Samba has been an icon in both sports & style since its introduction in 1949. With the shoe’s popularity skyrocketing over the last two years, the Three Stripes has experimental new styles on the way, like this Decon Zipper pack, coming soon.
The adidas Samba is one of the brand’s most enduring silhouettes, first introduced in 1949 as an indoor soccer shoe. Its grippy gum sole and streamlined leather build made it a go-to for athletes on icy pitches, but over time, it evolved into a global style staple. From terrace culture in the UK to the fashion runways of today, the Samba has seamlessly bridged sport and lifestyle. In the last two years, it’s seen a massive resurgence, fueled by high-profile collaborations and celebrity co-signs that reintroduced it to a new generation of sneaker fans.
This season, adidas is gearing up to introduce a new twist on the Samba, with a Decon Zipper pack. We’ve already seen the release of deconstructed pairs early this year, a style that removes excess paneling and patting for a single layer of seamless textile. Now, they are prepping that look with a more weather-ready version. The new pairs come in a shimmery nylon material for the upper, using heat taped Stripes instead of sewn panels, and stitching lines to recreate the toe caps. The lacing systems are covered by a leather zipper panel for protection against the elements, and come in either tonal grey or burgundy red colorways.
