The adidas Originals Retropy E5 first debuted in the Summer of 2021. Slowly but surely, the Three Stripes have introduced a small range of color schemes for the retro-inspired model, leading up to this “Altered Blue” version, available now.
Last Summer, the adidas Originals team introduced a new silhouette, the Retropy E5. As the name might imply, the new sneaker takes a heavy dose of inspiration from the Three Stripes archives, borrowing elements from some of adidas’ greatest hits to create an enticing new lifestyle model. The Retropy E5 construction begins with a soft and thin textile base layer, keeping the shoes breathable and light. Next, the heel counter and toe box overlays are added in a smooth suede, while the molded foam tongue most notably seen on the classic Samba has been adapted to fit the new model. The Retropy E5 has released in a small number of colors since its inception last year, but this week’s release of the new “Altered Blue” version is our personal favorite. Mixing faded blue overlays with a peachy-orange accent color, this new look is already available from the adidas website.
