adidas’ Never Made collection of hybrid footwear in 2018 was full of both hits and misses for the Three Stripes. The most popular silhouette introduced by the project was the Marathon Tech, a modern update to a vintage classic that returns in 2020.
Introduced back in 1979, the adidas Marathon holds a special place in the heart of Three Stripes loyalists, thanks to the silhouette’s influence on the brand’s design language and forward-thinking use of technology. Today, the Marathon is still around, though in 2020 things are looking a little different. Now going by the name Marathon Techm the current iteration of the shoe features a full-length Boost midsole with just a small piece of the silhouette’s famous Dellinger web attached to the lateral side of the tooling. This version was first introduced in 2018 as a part of the adidas Never Made series, but became popular enough to warrant a regular release schedule that is still going two years later. The latest color scheme for the Marathon Tech takes on the Three Stripes’ fan-favorite Raw Khaki and olive green tones ideal for the Fall and Winter months.

adidas’ latest colorway of their modern day iteration of the Marathon released overseas from retailers like Warsaw’s Chmielna20, with a wider release expected in the coming weeks. As usual, the updated Tech silhouette will retail for a cool $130, and launch from both adidas and select retailers.
