adidas’ Celebration of the Torsion Bar Continues With the Lexicon OG

The adidas Lexicon OG is almost here. After many sneakerheads fell head over heels for the revamped LX CON, adidas is still ready to reissue their original 1996 iteration in all of its glory later this week.

adidas Consortium’s celebration of the famous Torsion Bar continues this month with another throwback from the archives. This time around, the newly revived sneaker is returning just after the debut of its 2019 update: the LXCON. The adidas Lexicon OG, first released in 1996, includes adidas’ Torsion Bar, an underfoot technology buried in the midsole that allows the sole to bend at many angles without giving under a runners foot. True to the original pairs, this reissues upper is constructed from a mesh and leather-based upper, featuring mesh quarter panels, aggressive black stripes, and a thin plastic tube running around the lacing system, collar, and heel for support. This first release covers the Lexicon OG in one of its original colorways, featuring a mainly white upper accented by royal purple and a hint of black.
