Many of adidas’ signature basketball athletes are introducing their tenth model this year. Today, we have our first look at James Harden’s Volume 10 silhouette, featuring a reworked molded shell and sleek new look.
Back in 2015, James Harden signed his new deal with adidas, which marked a monumental contract in the world of sports and sneakers. The Three Stripes convinced Harden to move on from Nike with the promise of a signature shoe line and a thirteen-year, $200 million dollar contract. We are now ten years into the deal, and the Harden sneaker line is still going strong. Later this year we are expecting the debut of the Harden Volume 10, and today we have a first look at the new model.
Ten sneakers in ten years is an impressive milestone for any signature athlete. While Michael Jordan was the first to do it, the circle of athletes with that many silhouettes is still small. LeBron, KD, Kobe, and Allen Iverson are all members of the elite club, with Harden now entering the double-digit era. The new Volume 10 silhouette builds on the outer shell designs of the 8 and 9, this time adding concentric circles mimicking ripples in water. Seen in two colorways, white/black and red/white, the shoe also comes with a sock-like inner bootie for a snug fit. adidas has not yet shared any details of the new model, so we can’t say what kind of tech they are hiding inside.
