Anthony Edwards’ sophomore signature shoe with adidas, the AE2, is finally here. After debuting early this month, more colorways have started to emerge to fill out their lineup for the rest of 2025. Today, we have official images of a crisp “Alphadawg” style, coming in December.
The rollout of the adidas AE2, Anthony Edwards’ second signature sneaker, has been an interesting one. The first model was incredibly successful, making its debut in December 2023, and racking up Sneaker of the Year mentions throughout 2024. While we expected the second pair to release during that late 2024 window, it never came. We saw some early looks at development samples, leading us into 2025, but still nothing. Over the Summer, we learned that the original style for the AE2 was scrapped, and the AE3 was slotted into its place, now known as the second signature.
The replacement of their in-progress AE2 turned out to be a great decision. Seen here in a new “Alphadawg” colorway, the shoe’s aggressive style is already being lauded as an excellent follow-up to one of the most popular basketball shoes of the decade. Having already been in development before being moved up in the schedule, adidas has plenty of colors locked and loaded for the shoe’s launch. This week, we’ve already had an early look at a “Year of the Horse” style, and a confirmed release date for the “Blue Fusion” pair. Today’s early look pits the model in a white base for the mesh sections, adding its cage in white and Dusty Ink purple hues over blue accents.
ADIDAS AE2 “ALPHADAWG” RELEASE INFORMATION
The latest new color scheme to emerge of Anthony Edwards’ adidas AE2 has not been announced officially yet, but is currently expected to release on December 6th, 2025. The “Alphadawg” style features white, black, blue, and purple tones, and will likely be available from both adidas and select retailers. Pricing is set at $130 for this silhouette.
