Last week, adidas held the global debut of their new AdiZero Goukana model. With the silhouette finally available to the public, new colors like this “Preloved Ink” edition have surfaced, coming this Fall.
The origins of adidas’ new Goukana model take root in 2008. The shoe is directly inspired by the original Adizero silhouette, an ultralight distance running shoe. Few pairs were created for the original run, and one was worn by Haile Gebrselassie during the Berlin marathon, where he set a record-smashing 2:03:59 time. The silhouette never got a public release, and was shelved until Wales Bonner helped bring it back as the Neftenga in 2024.
This week, the Goukana finally got a global release in its striking yellow color scheme, after a drop with Undefeated this Spring. With the chunky new silhouette finally available to the public, adidas’ next wave of colorways has surfaced ahead of their Fall release. Among these styles is a dark “Preloved Ink” pair. This look pits the shoe in a mix of materials and colors, starting with a deep navy blue for the mesh base. The shoe’s suede overlays come in another shade of blue, while the Preloved Ink tone makes up the midsoles and mid layers. Finally, the new color is completed by bright red accents.
