PUMA Hoops’ Sky Modern, a reenvisioned ’80s basketball shoe, made its debut this year during the NBA’s All-Star Weekend festivities before the league shut down. Now, PUMA is still forging ahead, ready to launch the Sky in a new “Bred” colorway this week.
PUMA Hoops has a new silhouette for the new year. Titled the Sky Modern, the sneaker originally launched back in the 1980s, but returns today reenvisioned with a modernized look and technology for the basketball court. The silhouette was being sported by the Lakers’ Kyle Kuzma, before the NBA season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. Despite the delay of games, PUMA is still ready to drop new colorways of their latest hoops silhouette. This week, the Sky Modern is hitting shelves in the classic “Bred” color scheme, which begins with a solid black base for much of the shoe’s upper, save for a PUMA Formstrip and ankle collar in white. The heel counters also feature a splash of red, giving a pop of color to the otherwise tonal look.
