The PUMA California is back. After returning initially last Summer, the simple women’s silhouette from the German sportswear brand returns in 2020 with an updated look, adding a few extra layers to create the new PUMA California Sport.
PUMA’s California silhouette has spent quite some time in the brand’s spotlight since it returned last year. Built as a women’s lifestyle silhouette, the simple leather upper and standard EVA cupsole helped to make them a popular choice for casual wear. However, with a new year upon us, PUMA is introducing an updated version, the California Sport, beefing up the shoe with extra overlays and a thicker midsole. The first addition of the Cali Sport also pays homage to some PUMA classics, through its “Heritage” colorway. Dressed almost entirely in white, the shoe’s signature Formstrip, heel clip, and a suede lacing overlay in the toebox come in forest green suede, while hints of light grey makeup the upper eyelets and PUMA branding.

PUMA’s updated iteration of the classic women’s California, subtitled the Sport, has been announced for release later this week, on April 1st, 2020. The upgraded version of the sleek silhouette will be available from both PUMA and select retailers, with a price tag of just $90.
