Union x Nike Dunk Low “Natural Selection” Pack Design
Union Los Angeles owner Chris Gibbs picked the Nike Dunk because it has been his favorite Nike shoe for decades. He wants it out of the flex shoe lane it held during its hype era.
Gibbs changed the build, not only the colors. The padding is gone in favor of an unlined construction, and the heel collapses. That makes the Dunk easy to step into and leave by the door, in line with the wider move toward mules.
The three colorways are “Hide,” “Eclipse” and “Fatigue.” The palette leans on neutral earth tones, plus one patterned pair. Gibbs describes the pattern as an exotic cheetah print kept understated, a deliberate contrast to Union’s usually loud Nike and Jordan collabs.
Is the Union x Nike Dunk Low a Limited Run?
Chris Gibbs says Union made far fewer pairs than in its other Nike collaborations. He framed it as a way to avoid flooding the market, and no production numbers have been shared.
