Introduced in 1982, Nike has iterated on the basketball model regularly for the past 40+ years, messing with shape, materials, and cushioning technology for different styles. This Summer, Nike finally delivered their remastered version of the 2001 shape, a version widely considered by collectors to be the pinnacle of the Air Force’s evolution, but quietly disappeared after the introduction of the 2007 version, which has stuck around for nearly twenty years since. The ’01 returned initially through collaborations, but has started to hit shelves in plenty of in-line offerings over the past month.
