Ducks of a Feather and Nike already have a number of popular releases under their belt this year. This month, the two have cooked up a special “Tokyo” edition Air Max 1, complete with UO Duck branding, and releasing in a limited run of 300 pairs.
Nike has called Beaverton, Oregon home since the brand’s inception in the ’60s. The brand was founded by alumni of the University of Oregon, and pulls a large chunk of their employees from the school, many of whom were athletes in Nike-sponsored athletic programs there. When the NIL program started a few years ago, Nike began teaming up with Division St., a communal NIL fund, to create limited-edition sneakers to help finance NIL athletes at Oregon. These sneakers are released under the name Ducks of a Feather, a reference to both the UO Duck mascot and the idiom ‘birds of a feather flock together’.
This week, DOAF and Nike have announced their next special-edition footwear drop. The new project brings a “Tokyo” theme to the Air Max 1, executed through a mix of neutral and colorful tones. The retro comes primarily in shades of grey, using various tones for the runner’s mesh, suede, and nubuck overlays. Swooshes come with a rainbow of color in stripes, while neon green accents appear in the Air bags, across the heels, and the shoe’s inner lining. Duck patches on both tongues complete the look.
DOAF X NIKE AIR MAX 1 “TOKYO” RELEASE INFORMATION
The next release from the Ducks of a Feather NIL program and Nike has been scheduled to release later this month, on June 28th, 2026. Like past releases, this drop will be in partnership with Flight Club, and pairs of the limited-edition 300 pairs will be available through a raffle, opening June 23rd. Pricing is unknown for this color scheme, but we expect something in the $180 range, and a likely a far heftier resale price for an ultra-limited shoe like this.
