Nike’s lineup of sneakers for the World Cup just keeps growing. This week, a new pair of the Total 90 III retro has surfaced, covering the shoe’s upper in a quilted soccer ball pattern and dressed in Pink Rise.
Sneaker brands are all in on this year’s FIFA World Cup celebration, rolling out plenty of products for fans, sneaker collectors, and anyone even remotely interested in soccer. adidas and Nike are two of the biggest corporate representatives of this year’s tournament, outfitting over two dozen national team programs between them. Nike’s approach has kept our attention over the last few weeks, as they have slowly unveiled pairs of the CryoShot model in collaboration with creative partners from seven of their thirteen teams. Virgil Abloh, Jacquemus, Palace, and more are all set to headline the upcoming release schedule, but a special pair of the Total 90 III has caught our eye this week.
Nike’s new colorway of their retro indoor soccer shoe, the Total 90 III, brings a unique pattern to the model’s leather upper. Originally released in 2004, the T90III made its comeback last year, and has stuck around for an impressive run, thanks to the ongoing trend of slim sneakers in fashion. The new look brings a soccer ball’s hexagonal stitching pattern to the silhouette, giving the T90 an all-over quilted look. The entire shoe is doused in a Pink Rise shade, paired with black embroidery for the multiple branding hits. Finally, ribbon laces complete this special-edition release.
