The Panda Dunk has been a defining sneaker for Nike this decade, and despite the shoe’s trend cycle reaching its end, the Swoosh has one more riff on the classic look coming this year, a “Patent Panda” style.
Nike’s Dunk has been an iconic piece of sneakers and streetwear for decades, but truly rose to prominence in the 2000s. In 2020, after two decades of scarcity, the Swoosh opened the floodgates for the model’s low-top version, releasing hundreds of colors new and old in the next few years. While some releases gave us retros of truly iconic Dunks, others were simple new or rehashed colors,. One of the standout styles early on was the “Panda” black & white edition, which was shockingly hard to get hands on when it first released. Nike made the style a seasonal staple, restocking every few months from 2021-2023, and pairs resold for over their MSRP despite the shocking amount of stock. The style has faded after it’s omnipresent years, but Nike still has some new riffs in store for this year. This week, a “Patent Panda” syle has surfaced, pitting the shoe’s black layers in glossy patent leather.
NIKE DUNK LOW “PATENT PANDA” RELEASE INFORMATION
Nike’s latest iteration on their simple black & white Dunk Low has not been announced officially yet, and is currently expected to release during the Fall 2026 season. Official photos of the shoe have been pulled from JD Sports’ UK division, showing off a glossy patent leather finish for the black leather layers. Pairs will be available from Nike and select retailers for an expected $120.
