Another day, another Jumpman leak for 2027. This one is an interesting retro, however. Jordan Brand is preparing to roll out a new colorway of the Air Jordan 3’s Flip variant for next year’s Super Bowl, marking the first release of this style in years.
Jordan Brand experimented with all kinds of special releases in the 2000s, issuing retros of the most iconic Air Jordan sneakers with fresh takes on color blocking, design, and flipping OG color schemes. In 2007, the Air Jordan 3 got an interesting new look dubbed Flip, which reversed the use of the model’s signature elephant print paneling. Typically added along the toe and heel overlays, the Flip reverses the shoe’s construction, using elephant print leather for the main body of the AJ3, and tumbled leather along its overlays. Only two colors of the AJ3 Flip were ever released, the original white pair in 2007 and a black style followed in 2011. Both styles were actually teased by friend-of-the-blog Vlad Ciutacu last month, when he quietly shared photos of both classic colorways. Now, the ever-reliable leaker zSneakerHeadz has shared that the Flip will return in 2027, with a special SB release. Thats SB as in Super Bowl, though a Nike SB AJ3 is high on my wish list for the future. The new colorway will be only the third style to ever release, and will reportedly come in a bold Varsity Red for the entire upper, as shown in the mock-ups here.

The return of the Air Jordan 3 Flip is currently expected to be a part of the Jumpman’s 2027 Super Bowl celebration, which will be played on February 14th, 2027. The sneakers will likely get a special release in Los Angeles for the occasion, though we have a few months before any more information is likely to surface.
