Nike has been designing the MLB’s City Connect jerseys for several years now, and this Spring they are putting together a matching collection of sneakers. Today we have an early look at the Atlanta Braves’ Air Max 1, coming soon.
Baseball is back, baby. The first pitch of this new season was thrown on March 25th, and games have been plentiful in the month since. Just days after the opening day match between the Yankees & Giants, an upcoming project from Nike, the league’s official jersey supplier, leaked ahead of schedule, teasing an expansive project in partnership with the MLB. The work involves Nike’s City Connect jerseys, the more colorful, eye-catching uniforms provided for each team during the season. These styles typically tie-in with local history and culture, or reference vintage jerseys. Nike is embarking on a sneaker project for fans, bringing the style of City Connect uniforms to footwear, specifically, the Air Max 1. So far, the Padres‘ pair has surfaced, and now the Atlanta Braves’ style has joined the collection. Their take colors the AM1 in white with light & dark shades of blue for the mudguard, Swoosh, and lining. Small hints of red round out the palette, with plenty of ATL branding to complete the look.
MLB X NIKE AIR MAX 1 “BRAVES” RELEASE INFORMATION
The upcoming collection fro the MLB and Nike celebrating teams’ City Connect jerseys has not been announced yet, but is expected to arrive in May 2026. The full scope of the project is unknown as of now, though we hope to see all thirty teams represented in Air Max form. Pairs will be available through Nike and select retailers for $150.
