Nike is preparing a massive range of special sneaker releases for this year’s FIFA World Cup. Many countries will get their own style of the Air Max 95, with England’s pair set to launch next week.
This year’s FIFA World Cup is not set to kick off until June, but Nike is jumping way ahead of the game with their releases for the tournament. The Swoosh is one of the larger sponsors for this year’s festivities, outfitting 11 countries’ national teams with full home & away kits, and plenty of footwear options for on and off the field. For their public-facing releases, the Swoosh is once again leaning on their Air Max 95 to do the bulk of the work, giving each of their partners a special colorway of the iconic runner in the team’s colors. This week, the England home kit has surfaced in retro running shoe form, dousing the silhouette in a mainly sheer white build. “Speed Red” is the accent color for this style, featured in the lacing system, Air bags, and Swooshes, while the English national team’s crest is placed on both tongues of the shoes.
