Nike & Kevin Durant Unveil Their KD19, Releasing in June

Kevin Durant and Nike have formally unveiled the star’s next signature sneaker; the KD19. Fast approaching their 20th anniversary, the new model incorporates a molded upper, and will launch in a vivid “University Red” color scheme.

Kevin Durant’s tenure with Nike began in 2007, during his rookie season with the Seattle Supersonics (RIP). The deal included signature shoes for the fledgling superstar, with his first model release the next year in 2008. Since then, the two have introduced a new mainline KD sneaker for every NBA season, and in 2023, Durant became the third-ever player to sign a lifetime contract with the Swoosh, following in the footsteps of Michael Jordan and LeBron James. With the current NBA season coming to a close soon, Kevin Durant stepped onto the court last night in his next signature shoe; the KD19. Nike quickly followed up with an official press release giving us a detailed look at the new model, and sharing the technical details packed inside.

Nike Basketball has been on a roll with their player signature models in recent years, and the KD19 is no exception. The shoe features a single-piece molded upper, a design choice they’ve leaned on heavily since the Foamposite celebration and introduction of the GT Future in 2025. However, the KD19 is a low-top and adds a ‘dagger’ shaped line down the side of the shoe, which not only acts as an eye-catching feature, but it’s dual-injection manufacturing makes it a stability feature on the court. The midsole features full-length Zoom Strobel cushioning, technology first introduced back with the KD12. The model will release to the public this Summer, kicking things off with a tonal “University Red” color scheme for the Houston Rockets.

The debut of Kevin Durant’s nineteenth signature sneaker from Nike has been scheduled to launch this Summer, on June 13th, 2026, through SNKRS, followed by a wider release on the 17th. The new model, a low-top silhouette with a molded upper, will make its debut in a vivid “University Red” tonal color scheme. Pairs will be priced at $155.
