Last year Nike introduced a new model into their lineup of Kobe-themed releases, the Air Force 1. This particular version applies a snakeskin texture to the upper for the Mamba variant, which has surfaced in a “Steam” green look this week.
Nike’s newest version of a Kobe Bryant-branded Air Force first arrived last Summer. The new variant is not a part of their Protro series like some recent Kobe releases, which featured a drop-in ReactX midsole as its main performance update. Instead, the new Mamba version applies a snakeskin texture across the entire shoe’s upper, featuring a glossy finish for an eye-catching look. Pairs first landed in a triple white color scheme, followed by several more tonal editions in purple, olive green, and all-black. their first deviation from the tonal look landed in November with the “Lenticular” edition, a greyscale pattern meant to mimic the look of actual snakes. This week, another non-tonal colorway has surfaced, sporting a new “Steam” green tone. The color is a muted, pastel shade of green, a perfect hue for sunnier Spring days. This is paired with white soles and branding to balance out the palette.
