Patta and Nike surprised us this month with a return to their Air Max 1 Waves, a riff on the iconic runner that first released in 2021. This week, their second new colorway, “Pure Platinum”, has surfaced in official Nike photos, coming soon.
Air Max 1 releases from Patta always have our attention, due largely to their iconic releases of the classic Nike silhouette. In 2021, the two introduced “The Wave”, a fresh take on the silhouette that changed the straight-edged mudguard into w wavy line wrapping around the entire perimeter of the sneaker. The reworked model released in five colorways of the course of late 2021 to Summer 2022 before being shelved and moving on to other projects. Then, early this year, Patta team members teased new styles of the popular look, united by a “Hyper Crimson” accent color. The first of these new looks released last week, and now a follow-up has surfaced in official images from Nike. The new pair comes dressed mainly in a “Pure Platinum” grey tone for the mesh base and leather overlays. The wavy mudguard panel is added in white, while aged yellow midsoles and tongues add another neutral tone to the palette. Swooshes and Nike branding on the tongues and heels come in the Hyper Crimson orange shade to complete the look.

Patta and Nike have not announced an exact date for the next release of their Air Max 1 Waves, but the new color should arrive sometime soon in Spring 2026. This pair continues the “Hyper Crimson” theme with a Platinum grey upper and white mudguards, adding the bold orange hue to the Swooshes. Pairs will likely be available from both partners, with a price tag of $150.
