Nike’s retro basketball offerings are back in style, and they have delved into their archives for some unusual deep cuts. Late last year, they revived the Air Flight 89, which returns for more new color schemes this season. Today, a “Khaki” look has surfaced online, coming soon.
Nike’s Air Flight 89 shoe originally released in, you guessed it, 1989. The model arrived around the same time as the Air Jordan 4, and even features a slightly similar panel structure and general look, though it is a bit closer in style to the AJ3. Additionally, the Air Flight features a slightly lower cut for those who prefer more maneuverability in their ankles.
Last year, the model returned to shelves after a collaboration with Stussy, and Nike has been slowly dropping more and more pairs to beef up their in-line offerings, adding more colors this Fall with some new materials. Seen here in a “Khaki” shade with dark brown accents, this pair features an all-suede construction of the upper for a fresh twist.

Nike’s new colorway of their retro Air Flight 89 has not been given a public release date yet, but is expected to arrive sometime in Fall 2024. The new “Khaki” colorway with brown accents and a suede build will be available through their official channels as well as select retailers for $140.
