The Nike Air Kukini Gets a Tonal ‘Cargo Khaki’ Look

Nike has revived the early-2000s Air Kukini, bringing back a handful of the classic colorways alongside new ones. This week, a new Cargo Khaki’ olive look has surfaced online, set to release later this year.

On New Years Day in 1999, Nike introduced the Alpha Project, a new series of shoes focused on identifying and solving performance problems in their products. The Alpha line produced a number of out-of-the-box silhouettes that remain popular to this day, like the Air Presto, as well as some lesser known models, like the Air Kukini, which returned in retro form this year in both original and new colorways. This week, we have another early look at an upcoming pair, which dresses the slip-on shoe in a ‘Cargo Khaki’ color scheme. The new look features a light olive green neoprene base layer, with darker green leather overlays for the toes, heels, and tongues, as well as a matching midsole. The signature flexible TPU cage comes in a semi-transparent olive shade to complete the look.
