After a wild saga of events, mega-star Zion Williamson has oficially signed with Jordan Brand adding to their already invasive group of talented athletes.

Zion Williamson, a native of Florence, South Carolina has been on the hit list for many NBA Executives during his short basketball career. Arriving and playing for Duke for one year, he made his impact on the game and was ready to declare for the 2019 draft. The star was taken in the first round by the New Orleans Pelicans to join Jrue Holiday and newer teammates, Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and Josh Hart.

Many wondered where Zion would sign due to the eery event of blowing out of his Nike PG signature shoe during one of the most important games of his college career but Jordan Brand was able to lock him up regardless. Like most Jordan athletes this is a dream come true as Zion said, “I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of the Jordan Brand family,” says Williamson. “Since I was a kid, I dreamed of making it to the league and having the type of impact on the game Michael Jordan had and continues to have today. He was one of those special athletes I looked up to, and I really can’t express how happy and excited I am for this journey.”

Although we do not have the terms and conditions of the deal, Jordan Brand likely took a big trip to the bank for the rising super star. In contemporary terms, Zion secured the bag. If his career plays out to be 90% of what many projects it to be, we could be looking at one of the greats. That’s why he was worth every penny to Jordan Brand. Even Michael Jordan weighed in on the signing, “Zion’s incredible determination, character and play are inspiring,” says Jordan. “He’s an essential part of the new talent that will help lead the brand into the future. He told us he would ‘shock the world,’ and asked us to believe him. We do.” Impressive words from the goat.

While we appreciate Williamson’s athletic abilities this year on the hardwood his impact will surpass the game of basketball and that is exactly what a star is. The sky is the limit for the young athlete. It will be very interesting to see what Jordan Brand and Zion have in store for the future but whatever it may be, I’m sure it will be great.
