PUMA Hoops’ Sky Modern, a reenvisioned ’80s basketball shoe, made its debut last month during the NBA’s All-Star Weekend festivities, before the league shutdown. Now, PUMA is still forging ahead, ready to launch the Sky in a new “Easter” colorway next week.

PUMA Hoops has a new silhouette for the new year. Titled the Sky, the sneaker originally launched back in the 1980s, but returns today reenvisioned with a modernized look and technology for the basketball court. The look was being sported by the Lakers’ Kyle Kuzma, before the NBA season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. Despite the delay of games, PUMA is still ready to drop new colorways of their latest hoops silhouette. This iteration of the Sky Modern starts with a baby blue mesh upper, matched by the leather collar lining and leather blue Formstrip on the lateral side. Overlays on the toebox come in pink and yellow to not only provide support but some colorful flare, while a darker shade of blue makes up the tongue and the stiff TPU heel counter.
