Paris Fashion Week is still bringing us plenty of early looks at upcoming projects today. Comme des Garçon showed off some of their new collaborations over the weekend, including the CdG Homme x New Balance 509.
Comme des Garçon has become the herald for upcoming retro releases in the world of sneakers as of late. The France-based fashion label founded by Rei Kawakubo has taken the lead on a number of silhouettes to be given retro releases from a variety of brands. Just this week alone, they’ve teased a revival of the Nike Air Rejuven8 from 2008, and now, the Homme division has teased their take on the New Balance 509.
New Balance’s 509 silhouette first arrived in the early 2010s, engineered as a high-tech running shoe for its time. Since then, the model’s sleek but plain aesthetics have firmly planted in the ‘dad shoe’ world. The model had its first modern release late last year in collaboration with Korean designer Do Hee Kim, and now, CdG Homme is taking a swing at the model in two colors. The first style pits the shoe in a grey scale color, with varying shades of grey mixed with black accents. The second pair is nearly all-white, mixing flat white tones with off-white and eggshell shades.

Highlighting the early-2010s 509, the greyscale and white colorways will be available exclusively through CdG accounts like Dover Street Market. Retail pricing is currently unknown.
