adidas is constantly working on new colorways and looks for the Ultra Boost 4.0. With the Spring and Summer months fast approaching, it appears the Three Stripes are readying for the transition with a new “Trace Purple” Ultra Boost, coming soon.

New official images of an adidas Ultra Boost 4.0 show give a detailed look at new shades of colors for the brand. Take a first look at the new “Trace Purple” colorway for the Ultra Boost, which combines a neutral base with a flash of color on the heel. The fully Primeknit upper combines Grey Two and Off-White, two of adidas’ favorite neutral hues to create a soft grey look. Next, the heel cap is 3D printed in a brand new “Trace Purple” Pantone, though this could be more aptly renamed to Faded Blue or Freshwater Blue. The light and Summery upper sits atop a full-length Boost midsole, protected from the elements as always by Continental rubber. The newest Ultra Boost 4.0 colorway will be interesting to see in person. This is because of the color used on the signature heel cup, which is where the shoe gets its “Trace Purple” name, though this piece looks more like a faded blue.
