Vans collaborations have been coming hot and fast this year, as we can barely keep up with all of their new projects. However, this week’s got our attention. Check out the Sweet Chick x Vans Era & Slip-On, coming soon.
There are literally hundreds upon thousands of different brands, clothing labels, footwear, companies, and restaurants that call Los Angeles home, so it doesn’t really come as a surprise when two of them link up for a project together. Of course, not all of them receive the same attention that Vans and Sweet Chick do, as the two just announced a new footwear project together, releasing later this month.
Using the Vans Slip-On and Era as a canvas for the new project, the teams from both brands have done an excellent job creating a fluid “Chick & Waffles” themed pack. Both shoes begin with white quarter panels with an added alternating waffle pattern, while the toes and heels come in an off-white cream color. The white midsoles feature an added teal line running around the perimeter for a pop of color, which is also echoed along the inside. “Sweet Chick Life” branding is found repeatedly on the laces, while the lateral sides of the sole feature Sweet Chick’s Fairfax street number 448.
Sweet Chick’s new project in collaboration with Vans will first see a release via Footlocker pop-up event in New York City, followed by a limited global release on April 20th, 2019. Both the Slip-On and Era will carry a retail price tag of $65, launching in limited numbers with Footlocker Hollywood & Highland acting as the main locations.
