Nike and Swarovski are back with another crystal-imbued footwear collaboration. However, this time it’s a little different. The latest project from the two uses the Air Vapormax Flyknit as a base, a departure from their usual traditional material releases.

Nike and Swarovski’s latest collaborative project is easily their most eye-catching yet. Previous releases from the two have been focused on the Air Max 97, an icon not only for sneakers but for the female sneaker market, which these releases are exclusive to. However, the latest project between the unlikely partners switches up the formula, instead opting for a volt-colored Air Vapormax Flyknit as the canvas. The swap is an interesting move, considering that the Swarovski crystals were likely easily fixed to the AM97’s upper, whereas with Flyknit, they’ll need to be knit into the upper, or at least anchored to the threads somehow.
