Nike’s reworked Air Presto with a React midsole is almost here. After a few early on foot images appeared online last year, we finally have a closer look at the updated silhouette. Check out the Nike Presto React, coming soon.

Nike’s Air Presto has become a legendary silhouette in recent years. The silhouette has widely been regarded as far before its time due to the loose t-shirt-like feel of the upper, and eventually the unconventional but extremely accurate XXXS-XXXL size chart. Back in 2015, Nike celebrated the 15th anniversary of one of the greatest running shoes of all time by reissuing most of the original 13 colorways, complete with the characters marketed alongside each colorway back in 2000. Shortly after, in 2016, Nike even reworked the upper of the Presto, altering it to Flyknit to provide a more form-fitting and relaxed fit.

This year, Nike is revamping the Presto once more. Despite the fact that the Presto will be celebrating its 20th anniversary next year, Nike has decided to jump the gun a bit and release the shoe with a brand new React tooling. While the new look is largely similar to the original in materials and construction, those behind the design at the Swoosh were careful to not stray too far from the ethos of 2000’s original. The upper is made from the same flexible stretch-mesh and locked into place by a firm TPU sidewall cage, which has been reshaped to look more organic on this go around. The midsole retains the same split look as its ancestors, while extra outsole tractions provide more options for color blocking.

Nike’s latest take on the Presto silhouette is set to release sometime in 2019, though no specific release dates have been announced. Due to the upgraded React midsole, the shoe is likely to retail for slightly more than the Presto’s usual $100 dollar range.
